Governor
Aregbesola, at the campaign, hinged his re-election bid on the need to
entrench good and responsive governance in the state.
He
also said his anticipated victory at the August 9 gubernatorial poll
would allegedly nail the coffin of the PDP in attempting to govern Osun,
adding that by his victory, the opposition would never contemplate
nearing polling booth to seek votes from the electorate.
Aregbesola,
who is the standard-bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), at
the campaign held on the field of Government Technical College, Ilode,
Ile Ife, said “APC is unstoppable in Osun.”
According
to him, “we have the blessing of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade.
I am seeking re-election to entrench good and responsive governance in
this state. In 2007 and 2011, five persons were brutally killed in
Ile-Ife. We are dedicating today’s re-election to their blessed
memories.
“By
the time we finish 2014 election, none of the opposition would come
near polling booths again, because they would be roundly defeated. We
have constructed 50.7 kilometres of road in Ife senatorial district
alongside other projects capable of impacting positively on the masses.”
Expressing
optimism that he would convincingly win in the election, the governor
said quantum of visible achievements recorded by his administration
within the space of almost four years were enough credentials to
guarantee victory for the APC at the poll.
