PrimeQuests is an organization poised to redefine the economic, social and technological standings of Ekiti State with world class ideas that aimed to direct the focus of the whole world to the potentials existing in the State. Ekiti State is globally acknowledge as the fountain of knowledge in Nigeria this is an enviable legacy which we must guide jealously and to achieve this, concerted efforts must be geared towards creating ideas and actions that can consolidate the State’s position as the home of academics in Nigeria. In lieu of this fact, PrimeQuests requests your partnership in organizing a debate for the science and technical students in all the Secondary Schools in Ekiti State.
Aims
ü This
project is designed to identify, nurture and encourage secondary school
students of the Ekiti State origin who have potentials to become revered
figures in Science and Technology in Nigeria, Africa and the world in general.
ü It
is aimed to encourage secondary schools in Ekiti State to initiate research
into various challenges facing our society but could be solved through Science and
Technology.
Vision
We
shall produce world renowned Ekiti indigenous Scientists by stimulating
research to provide solutions to subjects affecting humanity which can be
improved through Science and Technology.
Prizes
The
prizes are to motivate the contestants; it is a kind of leverage for them to
kick-start the actualization of their dreams. It is also to encourage positive
participations by the secondary school students in the State. All participants
shall have certificate of participation while the winners will collect plaque.
Debate Winner: N1,000,000 educational
grant for pursuit in scientific field.
1st Runner-up Winner: N500,000 educational grant for pursuit in
scientific field.
2nd Runner-up Winner:
N200,000 educational grant for pursuit in scientific field.

Features of the event…
1.
Inter-Secondary
schools competition: the event is organized to discover young talents in
the field of science to provide solutions to various scientific and
technological challenges we face as a nation and a federating State.
2. Quiz: there shall be intelligent
scientific questions during the competition for the other students who are part
of the audience. This is aimed to identify other science genius among our
Secondary Schools’ science students.
3.
Lectures:
the event is designed to accommodate lectures from renowned lecturers in higher
institution within the State. We believe
with proper guidance and information from those who have contributed their
quotas to the science development in Nigeria, these young science geniuses can
understand how can achieve their goals and contribute immensely to development
of this country.
In
lieu of the above, the following topics have been outlined for the events:
a.
How
Technology can liberate developing countries and what Ekiti State stand to
gain.
b.
Effects
of laxity role of African Scientists on the Health sector in the continent,
Ekiti Example.
c.
Why
do we need science for Agricultural revolution in Africa, focus on Ekiti State?
Our expectation:
Our expectation,
no doubt, is to make this an annual event and turn it to a globally recognised
brand. We also expect this laudable idea to stamp Ekiti State as the true
‘Fountain of Knowledge’, that is, the home of intellectuals in Nigeria in the
consciousness of the outside world. If the West can produce Bill Gates, Mark
Zuckerbergs, Ben Carsons, Elbert Eisteins, Steve Jobs of this world, Ekiti
State at the West corner of Nigeria can do the same.
As
Steve Jobs once said, “be a yardstick of quality. Some people aren’t used to an
environment where excellence is expected.” Thank God, Ekiti State is known for
academic excellence, we need to prove the world right by being at the forefront
in scientific innovation in Africa. We can start from somewhere, let’s start now.
Coming from Steve again, “innovation distinguishes between a leader and a
follower”. We can make Ekiti State a leading State in scientific and
technological drive in Africa. That is why PrimeQuests Africa has come up with
ideas that will not only benefit Ekiti State but the whole of humanity.
