It was like eternity when the General Overseer of Redeemed
Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye told his congregation at
the last year’s December Congress that all the RCCG members are to embark on
100days fasting and prayer starting from
the 2nd January to 11th April, 2014. Many grumbled, many
thought of the missed opportunity to dismantle all the food they have prepared
for the Christmas and New Year festivities but almost everybody understood that
such exercise is divinely assigned.
The fasting and prayer became more acceptable with the fact
that the first version over fifteen years ago has been fruitful massively and
that God wants to do unprecedented wonders in the lives of his people in 2014
and beyond. No wonder many non-members of the church joined in the exercise to
benefit from the divine blessings.
The
exercise has ended today and to his style, Pastor Adeboye has ordered that
today, the last day should be assigned for thanksgiving only. No prayer
request, he said on his facebook page. His social network
addresses have been bombarded with series of testimonies by people from far and
near and according to the respected man of God, ‘there are still more to come
even years after the exercise’. This will definitely be a relief to millions of
the church’s members across the globe.
