There are facts, but there are truths. When truths are twisted to
satisfy a motive, they could become facts and if facts linger too longer
unchallenged, they will become ‘truths’. Where does the truth of the supremacy
of ‘Obas’ in Yorubaland lie? Africa has missed a lot because we had it too late
to preserve our history through concerted efforts. If Oduduwa had written down
his account of his emergence, we would have been relieved of the pain to
extract truth from the facts throwing at our face.
Withdraw you embarrassing budget, Fayose tells Buhari
Governor Ayodele
Fayose of Ekiti State has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to save the country
of the national embarrassment being caused by the 2016 Budget that he presented
to the National Assembly by formally withdrawing the budget and re-presenting
it. According to a statement issued yesterday by his Special Assistant on Pubic
Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, the governor said “the President
should admit that there were avoidable errors in the budget and since he is
human and not immune to errors, he should simply do the needful by presenting a
new and credible budget to the National Assembly.” Governor Fayose described
revelation by the Health Minister, Prof. Isaac Adewole, that the proposal drawn
up by the ministry and submitted to the budget office had been doctored and
that “foreign” appropriations, different from what was submitted, had been
sneaked in as the height of national embarrassment.
Gbenga Adeboye’s brother writes heartfelt tribute for him
Can you believe it’s twelve long years Funwontan left this planet earth? I could recall the tears and pain felt by his family, admirers and fans. I must admit I am an addict of his programme on Eko FM/Radio Lagos and OGBC, Abeokuta on Tuesdays and Wednesday respectively. Femi, his younger brother tried to relive the ace presenter, comedian and MC’s final moment and I feel like cry. Uhm…death be not proud. See Femi Adeboye’s post on his social media below:
